Role Overview: Government Loan Officer
This position is pivotal within one of the UK's leading Aerospace & Defence organizations, as Thales collaborates with the UK Government to manage a diverse array of complex equipment. We are seeking a Government Loan Officer (GLO) to oversee Audit, Compliance, and Customer Interaction for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) within Thales.
This role is ideally suited for individuals with a robust background in Inventory Management and Supply Chain operations within the Defence sector. It may also appeal to those with military experience in Logistics, Compliance, and Auditing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management and compliance processes of all GFE aspects within the supply chain.
- Act as the company representative during GFE audits and other relevant customer material audits.
- Develop enhanced solutions within the GFE supply chain, including fostering relationships with key customers.
- Enhance GFE accountability and transactional compliance.
- Provide administrative support to optimize process effectiveness within GFE/CFE areas.
- Engage in the development of solutions to address process challenges.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Proven experience in key Supply Chain functions within the Defence industry, particularly in managing GFE according to DEFSTAN 05-99 and DEFSTAN 611 requirements.
- Demonstrated success in delivering compliant processes and maintaining Quality Assurance throughout the supply chain.
- Adept at managing and enhancing efficiency in customer interactions.
- Experience in formulating and enforcing audit plans.
- Comprehensive understanding of Defence industry supply chain standards is crucial.
- Experience collaborating across various functions.
- Possession of a recognized Supply Chain qualification is advantageous.
- Recognition of relevant awards will be beneficial for applicants.
Security Clearance Requirements:
This role necessitates SC Clearance. While current clearance is preferred, it is mandatory for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain SC Clearance. For further guidance, please refer to the UKSV website.
To qualify for full SC, candidates typically need to have resided in the UK for the past five years. In certain cases, a minimum of three years' residence in the UK within the last five years may be accepted, subject to additional overseas checks.
