In the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), you will be instrumental in ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to excel both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities of the SENCo

· Part-Time Position (3-4 days per week)

· Immediate Availability Required

· Temporary to Permanent Contract

· Competitive Salary - Commensurate with Experience + SEN Allowance and TLR

As the Primary SENCo, your responsibilities will include:

· Strategy Development: Lead the creation, implementation, and assessment of effective strategies aimed at supporting the educational journey of children with special educational needs.

· Teacher Collaboration: Partner with classroom educators to foster inclusive learning settings and modify instructional approaches to cater to the varied needs of our students.

· Personalized Support Plans: Design and manage individualized support plans that reflect each child's unique strengths and areas for growth.

· Parent Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular feedback on their child's development and offering strategies for supporting learning at home.

· Staff Training: Deliver ongoing professional development for staff to deepen their understanding of special educational needs, promoting a culture of inclusivity throughout the school.

· Curriculum Accessibility: Work alongside curriculum leaders to ensure that our educational offerings are accessible and adaptable for all learners.

· Monitoring and Assessment: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provisions, gathering and analyzing data to inform decisions and enhance support services.

· Leadership in SEN: Take on a leadership role within the institution, advocating for the rights of students with special educational needs and promoting inclusive practices.
