Your Role

At Irwin Mitchell, a leading firm in clinical and medical negligence law, we are dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of our clients. Our skilled solicitors in medical negligence take the time to comprehend the challenges faced by clients, assisting them in obtaining the answers and compensation they rightfully deserve. Our clinical negligence team possesses vast expertise in handling claims related to obstetric, neonatal, anaesthetic, neurosurgical, cardiac, and psychiatric care.

You'll be joining a dynamic team led by Zoe Brodrick, Legal Director and Team Leader, based in our Sheffield office, specializing in limited value national medical negligence cases. The team addresses various negligence issues, including missed fractures, diagnostic delays, negligent surgical procedures, and fatal cases involving both adults and children.

About You

This position offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of the Medical Negligence team, where each day presents unique challenges. We seek a confident communicator who is highly organized to provide essential case support to both Case Handlers and the administrative team. Regular interaction with clients and collaboration with Case Handlers will be key to effectively advancing legal cases.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely actions on case correspondence, requesting pertinent medical records, assisting with the funding process, and preparing court documents. In conjunction with the administration team, you will delegate non-chargeable administrative tasks while also coordinating meetings with experts, counsel, and clients as necessary. You will provide vital information to Partners and Team Leaders to facilitate effective supervision and have the chance to advocate for continuous improvement and best practices at all times.
