Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a dedicated Band 6 Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner to become a vital member of our esteemed Critical Care Therapy Team within the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

We are open to considering a Band 5/6 developmental role based on the candidate's experience.

We seek an enthusiastic and proactive Physiotherapist with substantial Critical Care expertise and specialized acute respiratory competencies acquired in an acute NHS environment. This role will involve supporting our senior clinicians in delivering outstanding patient care. You will manage a complex clinical caseload that includes specialities such as Neurosurgery, Trauma, Medicine, and General Surgery. Your daily responsibilities will encompass the assessment and management of patients' respiratory and rehabilitation requirements, from initial evaluation through to discharge or transfer of care, collaborating holistically with colleagues in Critical Illness Rehabilitation and the broader Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the development of others, necessitating prior experience in supervising and training students and staff. You will collaborate with an established Therapy Team to enhance your clinical, leadership, teaching, service development, and research skills through close ties with the Centre for Care Excellence. Regular supervision and training opportunities will be available to support your professional growth and development.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to work core hours within an extended hours service, available seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays. Participation in the respiratory on-call rota will also be expected.

  • Engage in the planning, development, and evaluation of clinical practices and service enhancements.
