Job Summary:

Ross Care is seeking a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team in a workshop-based engineering role. As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for repairing, servicing, and maintaining wheelchairs to the highest standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct repairs, servicing, and maintenance as directed by the Service Centre Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, or Line Manager.
  2. Process all associated paperwork concerning repairs and servicing accurately on a daily basis.
  3. Ensure all warranty and scrap returns are labelled correctly and collated at the end of each day.
  4. Adhere to infection control policies at all times.
  5. Undertake engineering work in terms of service and repairs, and refurbishment in accordance with prescription builds.
  6. Assist in clinical appointments with healthcare professionals for any repairs and servicing requirements.
  7. Undertake administrative duties as required.
  8. Ensure all parts used are allocated from Stores through the Stores process.
  9. Adhere to Ross Care's operational procedures.
  10. Maintain a professional approach in all aspects of the role at all times, including appearance, paperwork, power tools, and workbench station.
  11. Perform duties according to all Company policies, procedures, and instructions.

Key Performance Indicators:

Person Required:

  1. Organized and able to work to a plan.
  2. Good communicator.
  3. Must be able to fault find.
  4. Neat and tidy writing.

Knowledge and Qualifications:

  1. Background and experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  2. Full driving license (not essential).
  3. Ideally qualified to GCSE level or NVQ level 1 or equivalent.
  4. Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

Training and Development:

Ross Care will provide training on wheelchair engineering.

Requirements:

  1. Trustworthy and possess a clean or appropriate DBS record.
