The Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Project Biology to lead our small-molecule therapeutic projects. As a key member of our discovery team, you will be responsible for providing scientific leadership and expertise to drive project success. Your primary focus will be on conceiving and implementing effective screening strategies to deliver clinical candidates aligned with our AI discovery platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide biology leadership to small-molecule drug discovery projects, ensuring timely delivery of clinical stage-ready assets in oncology and immunology disease areas.
  • Design and implement screening cascades using assay systems and endpoints that inform on target mechanism and disease biology.
  • Lead cross-functional teams internally and externally, ensuring effective coordination and progress reporting to stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain successful relationships with partners, academic leaders, and contract research organizations.
Requirements
  • 8+ years' total scientific expertise in oncology or immunology, including 5+ years' industrial experience leading project teams within drug discovery biology.
  • MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Expertise in conceiving and establishing biochemical and cell-based assays for screening cascades.
  • Track record of scientific leadership within drug discovery projects, with excellent collaboration and networking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English, with the ability to provide clarity of message across a wide range of audiences.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working throughout all phases of the drug discovery process from target identification to candidate selection for small molecules.
  • Experience in the design and execution of in vitro and in vivo/ex vivo studies with external vendors and CROs.
