Associate Director, Project Biology

The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Associate Director, Project Biology to lead our small-molecule therapeutic projects in oncology and immunology. As a key member of our discovery team, you will be responsible for providing scientific leadership, conceiving and implementing screening strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver clinical stage-ready assets.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement screening cascades using assay systems and endpoints relevant to target mechanism and disease biology
- Provide overall scientific leadership to cross-functional teams and regularly report progress to collaborators and internal decision-making bodies
- Plan and coordinate functions, both internal and external, to maximize the impact of the project team
- Establish and maintain successful internal and external relationships with partners, academic leaders, and contract research organizations
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- 8+ years' total scientific expertise in oncology or immunology, including 5+ years' industrial experience leading project teams within drug discovery biology
- MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline
- Expertise in conceiving and establishing biochemical and cell-based assays for screening cascades
- Track record of scientific leadership within drug discovery projects
- Excellent collaboration and networking skills, and experience of interacting effectively across departments and with external partners
