About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Royal Mail's Midlands Parcel Super Hub. As a key member of our critical engineering maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our parcel processing facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, mechanical power, and control wiring.
  • Conduct thorough fault finding and diagnosis to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to customers and colleagues on M&E equipment.
  • Assist with plumbing tasks, including replacing taps, sinks, and cisterns.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of general building fabric repairs to maintain the standard of the building.
  • Supply technical expertise in a range of situations, making informed judgments on how to undertake work to achieve quality, cost, and time objectives.
  • Deliver corrective and planned maintenance to meet performance measures.
  • Liaise with customers' representatives to ensure customer requirements are fully met.
  • Check and ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed.

About You

  • You must hold an Electrical certification, such as the 18th Edition.
  • Planned maintenance experience of electrical and mechanical systems is essential.
  • Experience in fault finding and diagnosis, with the ability to provide advice and guidance to others, is required.
  • You should be able to communicate effectively with customers, explaining technical issues.
  • You should be able to analyze and understand technical issues in relation to electrical systems.
  • IPAF and MEWP training and qualification are desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience of dealing with customers in a commercial environment is essential.
  • Computer literacy skills are an advantage.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is preferred but not essential.
