Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Community Outreach Specialist to join the esteemed Birmingham & Solihull Health and Justice Vulnerability Service, previously known as Liaison and Diversion.

This is a government-funded initiative, and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical leadership and management across teams within the Community Outreach sector, while also providing support and coverage as necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess significant post-qualification experience, with a preference for those who have worked within the Criminal Justice System.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Line management and supervision
  • Providing clinical expertise and support for case management of Outreach caseloads
  • Conducting data analysis and reporting
  • Maintaining and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Criminal Justice Pathway

The successful applicant will oversee the Community Outreach Pathway, facilitating community support and integration, assisting with caseload reviews, and developing comprehensive support packages.

Excellent inter-agency collaboration and liaison skills are essential, as the post holder will offer specialized clinical guidance to various entities, including the Crown Prosecution Service, Probation, and Police, to aid in formulating recommendations for the Court.

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to provide support and coverage across other service areas, including Police Custody and Community settings, to conduct thorough assessments within the broader Health and Justice Vulnerability Service.

Job Responsibilities

Note: This position is subject to Level 2 Police Vetting clearance. Candidates will also be required to undergo vetting related to accessing secure facilities.

The successful candidate will need to submit an application for police vetting. Once cleared, arrangements for a start date can be made. Please be aware that this process may take up to three months, depending on the relevant authorities.

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional registration
  • Experience working at a Band 6 level
  • Extensive post-registration experience
  • Experience in community and case management

  • Experience in secure or offender health, with extensive knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
