Job Description

Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team as a Project Specialist. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on civil design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and Design: Conduct thorough analysis of existing foundations and construction site layouts to ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Design Calculations: Undertake check functions for design calculations performed by other engineering colleagues to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Tender Process Management: Assist in the management of the tender process, including understanding and interpreting scope of works, providing advice and opinion.
  • Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE): Act as CDAE or equivalent role where required, ensuring that designs meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Design Support: Provide designs, volumes, and quantities as required for tender submissions, ensuring that budgets, programs, and specifications can be achieved.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project teams to determine and maintain common objectives, ensuring that work undertaken is appropriate and in accordance with project priorities.
  • Site Visits and Inspections: Conduct site visits as necessary to plan and inspect foundation and other civil works, ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
  • Safety by Design: Embed Safety by Design principles in all activities, including managing safety through appropriate life cycle designs that minimize risks to personnel and property.
  • Contract Document Analysis: Analyze contract documents to ensure correct interpretation of customers'/consultants' intentions.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Correspond with business units, customers, consultants, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure satisfactory progress and quality, visiting sites and offices as necessary to discuss and solve problem issues.
  • Training and Development: Assist in training new designers and/or trainees, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
