About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our team at ERSG Holdings Ltd. As a key member of our global practice, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality engineering project deliverables related to civil and structural engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the successful output of civil and structural engineering deliverables in the UK business, working closely with the Section Manager to assemble suitable civil and structural engineering personnel from across our global offices, as required.
  • Be a lead technical role on civil and structural engineering work packages relating to electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure, including undertaking the role of Lead Project Engineer on project teams, as required.
  • Produce detailed civil/structural engineering design packages, compliant to required client and national technical standards (BS/Eurocodes/ENA), including civil design and analysis of foundations, structural substation components, steel structures and other civil structural components, using industry standard software.
  • Lead various civil project designs including site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, storm water management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utility design, sediment and erosion control, and facility design.
  • Be a senior technical authority on civil and structural engineering, as it relates to power T&D infrastructure (electricity substations, overhead lines, and high voltage underground cables), within the wider company.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), from an accredited institution.
  • Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council.
  • Membership of a relevant professional Engineering Institution (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Cert./NVQ Level 3 in H&S related subject).
  • Minimum of 7 years of civil and structural engineering design experience, with at least 5 years of experience in the electricity transmission & distribution sector.
  • Advanced knowledge in civil and structural engineering related design, calculations and design.
  • Experience of working in a lead civil/structural engineering design role on National Grid Electricity Transmission projects in the UK and acting as a TP137 CDAE for Substation Civil/Structural.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience applying National Grid's Technical Specification, Technical Guidance Notes, and Design Handbooks relating to civil/structural engineering of electricity T&D infrastructure in the UK.
