About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our IT Digital team at The National Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting and implementing new features and technologies to enhance our public-facing website and supporting applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions using Java 11+ enterprise web development, Spring, REST/GraphQL APIs, and Microservices.
  • Collaborate with our UI/UX designer to turn designs into production-ready features, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • Work with our WebOps team to build out new cloud infrastructure or troubleshoot production incidents.
  • Assist with the maintenance of our CI/CD pipelines built upon Jenkins / GitOps / Kubernetes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and have the ability and interest to learn new skills as part of the role.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in an Agile Software Delivery approach and highly collaborative cross-functional Agile environment.
  • Background in development and maintenance of web-based product solutions with a focus on quality, performance, reliability, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Knowledge and experience of using software engineering tools and best practices.
  • Core Technical Experience:
    • Java 11+ enterprise web development
    • Spring, REST/GraphQL APIs and Microservices
    • Modern web frameworks (e.g., React single page apps, Javascript / Typescript)
    • Containerization (Docker / Kubernetes)
    • Database technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Mongo, Postgres)
    • Maven, Git, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
    • Atlassian Product suite including Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence
    • Cloud native applications (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless, Event-driven architectures)
    • Unit, Functional, and Integration Testing
    • BDD and Cucumber
    • Monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana)
