Coleg Cambria is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Lecturer in Foundation Learning to join our team at Deeside. As a Foundation Learning educator, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of courses from Entry to Level 1, guiding and supporting learners with a positive and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a broad curriculum that focuses on developing life, employability, and transferable skills to help learners progress.
  • Recognize and make students aware of their strengths and development needs.
  • Experience of working with Entry and Level 1 learners and an understanding of the challenges this can bring.
  • Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment.
  • Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behavior in the classroom.
  • Provide educational guidance, support, and counseling for all students and act as a personal tutor when required.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified to a minimum of degree Level 4 in a professionally relevant subject.
  • A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
