Job Title: Head of Education and Human Rights

Job Summary:

Simpson Millar Solicitors is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Education and Human Rights to lead our award-winning Public Law and Human Rights Department. As a senior member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the department, driving business growth and development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of solicitors, legal executives, and paralegals to deliver exceptional client service and achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies to drive growth, improve efficiency, and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on public law and human rights matters, including judicial review, community care, and inquest work.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify opportunities for business growth and development.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and performance metrics to ensure departmental targets are met.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in public law and human rights, with a strong track record of success in leading teams and delivering business growth.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of public law and human rights principles, policies, and procedures.
