About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire and Gas Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team at NES Fircroft. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and servicing Fire and Gas Detection Systems on both offshore installations and land-based sites.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Calibration and Testing: Perform on-site calibration and testing of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Implementation: Develop and implement test procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  3. Analysis: Interpret Cause and Effect diagrams and procedures to identify potential issues.
  4. Troubleshooting: Investigate problems, diagnose, and repair faults to minimize downtime.
  5. Client Interaction: Liaise with clients and installation project engineers to ensure seamless communication.
  6. Supervision: Supervise and guide junior engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and development.
  7. Documentation: Write detailed reports and maintain documentation to ensure compliance and transparency.
  8. Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients and team members to ensure optimal system performance.
  9. Safety: Ensure safe working conditions are maintained at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
  10. Training: Train maintenance and operative staff on system operations to ensure knowledge and competence.
Essential Qualifications:
  1. Proven experience in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Fire and Gas Detection Systems.
  2. Minimum academic qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
  3. Experience in interpreting client's Technical Specifications.
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft STD packages.
  5. Working knowledge of Fire and Gas Detection Equipment.
  6. Experience of Tyco current Fire and Gas Detection Systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  2. FS Eng (TUV Certified).
  3. Previous experience working as a Fire and Gas Commissioning Engineer.
  4. Good understanding of Software-based Systems.
  5. Experience of Legacy Wormald/Tyco Fire and Gas Detection Panels.
  6. Up-to-date Offshore Survival and Medical Certificates.
  7. Full UK Driving License.
