About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fire and Gas Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team at NES Fircroft. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and servicing Fire & Gas Detection Systems on both offshore installations and land-based sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement test procedures to meet client requirements.
  • Analyze Cause & Effect diagrams and procedures to identify potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot problems, diagnose, and repair faults in Fire & Gas Detection Systems.
  • Liaise with clients and installation project engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Supervise and guide junior engineers to ensure high-quality work.
  • Document all activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide technical support to clients and team members.
  • Ensure safe working conditions are maintained at all times.
  • Train maintenance and operative staff on system operations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum academic qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience in interpreting client's Technical Specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft STD packages.
  • Working knowledge of Fire & Gas Detection Equipment.
  • Experience of Tyco current Fire & Gas Detection Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
  • FS Eng (TUV Certified).
  • Previous experience working as a Fire & Gas Commissioning Engineer.
  • Good understanding of Software-based Systems.
  • Experience of Legacy Wormald/Tyco Fire & Gas Detection Panels.
  • Up-to-date Offshore Survival & Medical Certificates.
  • Full UK Driving License.
