Job Summary

U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Equipment Technician to join our team. As a Field Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of our fleet of trailers and trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers and trucks, including tire and brake maintenance.
  • Rebuild and repair braking systems and trailer components.
  • Use proprietary electronic pre-inspection and repair checklist.
  • Assess and care for field vehicles using U-Haul Company's proprietary technology.
Requirements
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of repair experience preferred.
  • Driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs.
