About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer to join our team at UK Research and Innovation. As a Web Developer for Automated Customer Systems, you will play a crucial role in the development of our computational infrastructure, which is vital for providing exceptional support to our customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop aesthetically pleasing and dynamic web interfaces for external customers and internal management systems.
  • Enhance existing web-based systems that provide customer portals and user interfaces to complex microelectronics design environments in secure virtual private clouds (AWS and Azure).
  • Ensure the security of data by following thorough procedures with meticulous attention to detail in secure coding processes.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement.
  • Are required or have requested to take an industrial placement year.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
  • Able to commence employment in summer 2025.
  • Studying relevant degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar with degree content relevant to the vacancy.
  • Proven ability in software development, especially scripting languages.
  • Good understanding of HTML and CSS and appreciation of the principles of good web design.
  • Understanding of how data may be mapped to database architectures for dynamically served content.
  • Demonstrate a logical approach to software debugging and a genuine interest in discovering more about web systems development.
  • Solid grasp of modern online system security principles.
  • Diligent, reliable and hardworking with good social skills and the ability to identify and communicate relevant technical information in English.
