Main Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Trainer to join our team at Capula. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of engineering training within the company.

Key Activities
  • Work with the Learning and Development Advisor and engineering leads to develop and deliver engineering training programs.
  • Advise on engineering training interventions and ensure appropriate provider/delivery.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Managers to refresh and upskill engineering populations.
  • Develop and advise on technical training content as needed.
  • Create a positive learning environment by engaging with learners and balancing aspirations with reality.
  • Help learners develop confidence in their abilities as they progress through their courses.
  • Challenge decision-making positively and with consideration.
  • Support engineering development reviews and input into annual reviews.
  • Support other areas of training and development across Capula as needed.
Main Activities - Apprentices

The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading the Apprenticeship scheme and supporting apprentices throughout their education journey.

  • Lead the Apprenticeship scheme and support apprentices on all aspects throughout their education journey.
  • Attend regular reviews with learners and education providers.
  • Ensure effective communication between education providers, learners, mentors, and Capula.
  • Work with education providers to ensure content is relevant and appropriate and discuss how gaps can be closed.
  • Understand the planned curriculum for learners and provide support where needed.
  • Work with Engineering Managers to identify suitable project work to enhance learning and ensure KSBs can be achieved.
  • Lead the mentor network and offer guidance and support as needed.
  • Lead reviews on logbooks and KSBs with Embedded and Digital Apprentices.
  • Develop a technical environment for apprentices to learn hands-on technical skills.
Essential Requirements
  • Either worked as an Electrical Control Systems Engineer or experience delivering Electrical Engineering courses.
  • Ability to coach and mentor learners.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, written and oral.
  • Work with the values of the company and set an example for behavior.
  • Appropriate qualification in an Electrical/Electronic/Control System/Software Engineering related field.
Desirable Requirements
  • BEng Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring.
