Project Overview

As a seasoned Environmental Sustainability Lead, you will be an integral part of the environmental and sustainability team working on a substantial new industrial development project. Your role will involve embedding sustainability principles throughout all stages of the project and formulating and enforcing policies that guide the organization’s environmental efforts. You will prepare and present detailed reports on environmental performance, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting the organization's objectives for carbon reduction and sustainable construction.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:

  • A solid background in the construction industry with a minimum of five years in a similar role with a reputable contractor or subcontractor.
  • Experience in managing projects within the industrial sector is highly desirable, though candidates with a proven track record in Environmental & Sustainability Management are encouraged to apply.

Core Duties

  • Direct and manage sustainability initiatives to promote eco-friendly practices.
  • Encourage waste reduction, recycling, and reuse initiatives within the organization.
  • Prepare and submit necessary environmental reports and documentation to regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Set and assess sustainability goals and targets, aligning them with the overall business strategy.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on environmental data to monitor performance and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Design and implement strategies for the efficient use of resources, including energy, water, and raw materials.
  • Build partnerships with external stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives and share best practices.
  • Develop and enforce environmental and sustainability policies that align with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Continuously monitor the environmental impact of organizational activities and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into all operational aspects.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of environmental and sustainability programs, making improvements as necessary.
  • Prepare and present sustainability reports that highlight the organization’s environmental performance and progress toward sustainability goals.
  • Communicate sustainability initiatives and achievements to stakeholders, including employees and clients.
  • Design and implement programs to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote sustainable practices within the organization.
  • Create long-term strategies for continuous improvement of environmental performance and sustainability.
  • Manage environmental and sustainability projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet their objectives.
