Job Description: Lead Civil Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Civil Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and delivering civil engineering projects from the initial design phase through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and support on projects throughout their lifecycle, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Conduct thorough site surveys to gather essential information and data, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of project needs and potential challenges.
  • Prepare detailed civil and structural design calculations, adhering to relevant industry standards and codes (British and/or Eurocodes).
  • Supervise the CAD/BIM team in the production of accurate and efficient design drawings, ensuring alignment with project timelines and specifications.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to clients, colleagues, and contractors, fostering strong relationships and collaborative working environments.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and excellence in all project deliverables, adhering to CDM Regulations 2015 and conducting thorough Design Risk Assessments.
  • Provide on-site support during the construction phase, offering technical expertise, problem-solving solutions, and guidance to our site teams.
Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in civil engineering design within a construction or related environment.
  • A strong understanding of structural theory, problem-solving methodologies, and all-round technical design expertise.
  • An accredited degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is highly desirable.
