About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Front-End Developer to join our team at FX Digital. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in pioneering and developing innovative Javascript products across OTT streaming and Connected TV applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to propose technical solutions to business challenges, attending client meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the development of TV and console applications using Javascript.
  • Work within an agile team, attending standups, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Provide guidance and inspiration to help other members of the development team.
  • Regularly review and provide feedback on code submissions from the development team, ensuring adherence to coding standards.
  • Advise the Lead Developer on tools and services that can improve the efficiency of the development team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments by attending events and training sessions.
  • Maintain a research and development mindset, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide support to the wider development team across other projects as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working in a team environment with multiple concurrent projects.
  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of vanilla Javascript and frameworks, including React.
  • Proficiency with JSON, especially in API contexts.
  • Understanding of APIs, including RESTful APIs.
  • Proficiency with HTML and CSS.
  • Understanding of web architecture, including transfer protocols and browser composition.
  • Experience with Git version control and Git flow.
  • Confident usage of CLI tools for front-end workflows, including Yarn, NPM, and Gulp.
  • A willingness to adapt and learn new tools and processes.
  • Effective time-management skills.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working with Connected Devices and Smart TV.
  • Experience developing on the Playstation and/or Xbox platform.
  • Experience with Jasmine for unit testing.
  • Experience with HTML video players and their technical requirements.
  • Experience with Typescript.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and tools like Jenkins or Travis.
  • Deep understanding of web inspection tools, web profiling, and step debugging.
  • Experience with automation testing, including unit tests, and a desire for test-driven development.
