Lead General Practitioner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality primary care to patients within our GP clinics, as well as providing clinical oversight of patients on the Care & Separation Unit (CSU).

About the Role

This is a part-time position, working 15 hours per week, with an annual salary of up to £135,000 FTE. You will receive a bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course, and have access to a competency framework, regional and national career development opportunities, and our Learning Management System to address your learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing primary care to patients within GP clinics, clinically assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients.
  • Providing clinical oversight of patients on the CSU.
  • Supporting with advance care planning, clinical case reviews, safer prescribing decisions, and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Providing a highly specialist resource of knowledge and skills to the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • MBChB or MBBS qualification.
  • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List.
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal.
  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice.
  • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications.
  • Evidence of up-to-date knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships.
  • Ability to line manage clinicians and support with clinical supervision.
