We are seeking a skilled and experienced Environmental Health Specialist to join our team at Fife Council. As a key member of our Public Protection team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and enforce alleged contraventions of nuisance legislation
  • Inspect businesses and properties to ensure compliance with statutory requirements for animal welfare
  • Provide expert responses to consultations from various stakeholders, including Planning, SEPA, and Scottish Government
  • Organize funerals under the Burial and Cremation (Scotland) Act

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of Environmental Health work and dealing with difficult customers
  • High National Diploma (HND) in a relevant subject or equivalent
  • A driving license, as much of Fife is rural in nature
