Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you want to kickstart your career in care or continue your journey working with children? We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to join our team at Aycliffe Centre in Durham.

This role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable young people. As a Residential Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides specialist accommodation for young people between the ages of 10 and 18.

Our centre houses young people with complex problems, and we need someone who can provide intensive support to help them turn their lives around. You will be a role model, building rapport quickly and working compassionately with our young people. You will also be responsible for maintaining adequate records, undertaking site risk assessments, and writing reports and care planning documentation.

We offer a competitive salary, starting at £27,803, plus allowances and a contributory career average salary pension scheme. You will also receive dedicated training, full induction, and the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a keyworker for young people and be a role model with a socially desired behaviour
  • Safeguard and provide consistency and stability
  • Maintain adequate records and undertake site risk assessments
  • Write reports and care planning documentation with the use of IT skills
  • Provide stimulating educational and physical activities
  • Possess knowledge of the standards within Children's Homes Regulations 2015
