About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our Construction Underwriting team in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting insurance risks for construction projects, ensuring accurate and efficient risk assessment and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the delivery of the annual business plan by making informed underwriting decisions.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards and guidelines to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, brokers, and colleagues.
  • Continuously develop expertise and technical knowledge through training and professional development.
  • Perform underwriting activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Proven experience in class-specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Intermediate level understanding of relevant software, including Excel and other departmental software packages.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
