About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Recruitment and Workforce Systems Teams as the Head of Employee Services. This is a senior role within the People and OD directorate, providing strategic and operational leadership to these teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set the strategic direction for Recruitment and Workforce Systems, aligning with local and national strategy and best practice.
  • Lead and manage high-performing Recruitment and Workforce Systems Teams, ensuring achievement of key performance indicators and positive relations with employees and managers.
  • Complete regular audits on quality and compliance with legislation, regulations, and local policies, and maintain appropriate processes for managing risks and ensuring continuous service improvement.
  • Work in collaboration with senior leaders and executive directors across corporate functions and care groups on recruitment and workforce matters.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree level or equivalent experience, CIPD membership or equivalent experience, and demonstrable evidence of recent continuing professional development. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing and leading teams, leading service improvement, completing audits, and setting strategic direction for recruitment and/or workforce systems.

They will also have knowledge of strategy and best practice relevant to recruitment and workforce systems, NHS employment check standards, immigration rules and UKVI guidance, agenda for change terms and medical terms and conditions, and the Equality Act and its relevance to recruitment and selection.
