Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to support the Associate Medical Director in developing innovative models of care and operational models for transforming forensic mental health services across Greater Manchester.

As a key member of the clinical team, you will work in partnership with the Clinical, Quality, and Operational Lead to deliver sustainable improvements and exemplar forensic mental health care.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the Division, ensuring effective management and support for medical staff, and work in partnership with the Head of Operations and Head of Nursing to provide joint accountability for clinical governance within the Division.

Key responsibilities include providing medical leadership for MDT meetings, conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, and supporting ward-based staff to manage psychiatric emergencies.

You will also be responsible for conducting patient reviews, leading multidisciplinary ward reviews, and participating in Trust's risk management processes.

Additionally, you will provide medical leadership to the inpatient ward team, maintain effective communication, and work flexibly and cooperatively with other parts of the service.

Key Requirements

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment
