Electrical Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Project Manager with a background in the rail industry to join our client's expanding rail team in Warwickshire. Our client is a well-established company that specialises in mechanical and electrical (M&E) works, civil engineering (Civils), and signalling and telecommunications (S&T) within the rail sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Management: Plan, execute, and finalise rail projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
  2. Low Voltage Systems: Demonstrate a thorough understanding and practical experience with low voltage (LV) systems in the rail environment.
  3. Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams. Ensure clear communication and understanding of project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  4. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the project team.
  5. Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met. Prepare regular reports on project status, including financial performance.
  6. Resource Allocation: Identify and allocate resources (both human and material) effectively to achieve project goals.
  7. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact on project timelines and outcomes.
  8. Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure all work meets the specified standards and customer expectations.
  9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and project plans. Provide regular updates to senior management.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in the rail industry, with a focus on electrical systems.
  2. Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge and practical experience with low voltage (LV) electrical systems in a rail context.
  3. Leadership: Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading project teams.
  4. Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
