Job Description

The People Advisor will play a key role in providing an effective HR service to the broader business, reporting into the HR & OD Manager and Head of People. This role will involve supporting line managers on employee relations matters, maintaining accurate records, and providing guidance on employment law and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive advice and support to line managers on employee relations matters, ensuring smooth processes and positive resolutions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive case management system, ensuring accurate records and reporting as needed.
  • Offer guidance to line managers on employment law and best practices, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Advise on sickness absence management, tailoring support to individual cases within the framework of attendance management policies.
  • Analyse and report data to the Head of People, identifying trends and creating action plans for improvement.
  • Support staff development by identifying training needs and coordinating appropriate responses.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of workshops and training programs to ensure line managers are well-equipped for their roles.
  • Advise and support line managers through the recruitment and selection process, ensuring consistency and a positive candidate experience.
  • Research, update, and develop People policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current legislation and best practices.
  • Take ownership of specific HR projects and workstreams, collaborating with HR leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • A strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and experience supporting senior leaders.
  • Experience handling complex employee relations cases.
