Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a driven and skilled Additive Manufacturing Team Supervisor. This pivotal role involves overseeing the Additive Manufacturing (AM) division, ensuring that all outputs meet quality standards and are delivered promptly. You will also be responsible for the effective maintenance and utilization of all machinery and equipment, while providing necessary training to AM personnel to ensure they excel in their roles. Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations within the Additive Manufacturing division.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Planning

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the priorities within the aerodynamics development program.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders involved in Planning & Production to facilitate effective communication regarding priorities, feasibility, and timelines.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all Additive Manufacturing machinery utilized within the aerodynamics sector.
  • Plan and schedule builds across all AM equipment, including SLA machines.

Team Leadership

  • Coordinate and manage a team of Additive Manufacturing Technicians, establishing work plans and priorities.
  • Facilitate training and development for AM team members to enhance their skills and increase overall group capability, including mentoring junior staff.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately trained in relevant Health & Safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and feedback sessions with AM personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Aero Operations on recruitment and team structure to foster group growth.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses within the team, working with the Head of Aero Operations and HR to propose actions for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Head of Model Shop to optimize aerodynamics production resources.

Equipment Maintenance & Technology Advancement

  • Ensure all Additive Manufacturing equipment is maintained to the highest standards for optimal performance, reliability, and safety, utilizing both in-house expertise and external resources.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, materials, and processes to enhance departmental capabilities or adapt to evolving needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AM equipment.

General Responsibilities

  • Engage professionally with external suppliers to ensure strong collaboration in critical business relationships.
  • Take ownership of assigned issues to ensure swift identification and implementation of resolutions.
  • Oversee all Health & Safety protocols within the Additive Manufacturing area, ensuring that Risk Assessments are current.
  • Collaborate with design team members to establish best practices for manufacturability.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times, actively promoting a positive image for the department and its sponsors.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience managing an Additive Manufacturing department in a high-paced motorsport or comparable environment.
  • Deep technical knowledge of additive manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Proven leadership and staff development capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex production-related projects on schedule and to the required quality standards.
  • Strong initiative and innovative mindset.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Thorough understanding of industrial-grade SLA machine technology and optimization techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and robust project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
