Job Summary:

The Customer Support Officer will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients and visitors, ensuring a safe and secure environment at our shopping centre. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible security cover to the Centre, handling enquiries and customer concerns.
  • Monitor CCTV and control contractors and deliveries to the Centre.
  • Undertake regular patrols of the Centre as instructed by the Centre Manager.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Centre Manager.
  • Comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Fire regulations are strictly complied with.
  • Ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are complied with at all times.
  • Provide immediate assistance for any emergency call-outs and incidents.
  • Record all incidents in the Incident Log.
  • Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to the centre procedures for contractor management.
  • Patrol the outside shopping centre, Car Park and service areas.
  • Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Assist with enquiries from the public and liaise with tenants on a day-to-day basis.
  • Assist with onsite events.
  • Be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
  • Hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
  • Deal with first aid incidents, bodily fluid issues, and emergency situations.
  • Carry out other reasonable management requests.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the provision of security services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
  • Hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
  • Ability to demonstrate good levels of customer service at all times.
  • Good Communication skills as will be liaising with the general public on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
  • Well presented.
  • Ability to carry out physically demanding duties.
  • Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Operational experience within a retailing environment.
  • CCTV license (If 7-19 or 19-7 Essential).
  • Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of H&S legislation.

Working Hours: 3 Days, 3 Nights, 3 Off
