Key Responsibilities

  1. Risk Assessments: Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate operational, financial, safety, and environmental risks.
  2. Action Plans: Develop action plans to mitigate high-priority risks, such as preventive maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and contingency plans.
  3. O&M Mobilization: Lead the mobilization of O&M activities, ensuring smooth project handover and optimal ongoing plant operation.
  4. Safety Measures: Ensure that all safety measures are in place, such as comprehensive safety training programs, protective equipment, and emergency response plans.
  5. Maintenance Strategy: Collaborate with O&M teams to optimize maintenance strategies, balancing costs with risks to maximize reliability and performance.
  6. Operational Governance: Ensure the implementation of a structured operating model, governance framework, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
  7. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of regulatory changes that could affect plant operations and risk management, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

This role requires professionals with significant experience in power plant operations, O&M leadership, and risk management. Extensive experience in power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering is essential. Prior exposure to risk management in the energy sector is highly preferred.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) business principles.
  • Demonstrable expertise in industry standards, regulatory requirements, and local legislation relevant to power plant operations.
  • Proficiency in using risk assessment tools like HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and similar methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and the ability to apply this knowledge to O&M operations.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English, with proficiency in additional languages being an advantage.
