About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our team as an Educational Mental Health Practitioner. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children, families, and schools to provide early intervention mental health support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Educational Mental Health Practitioner training course and receive ongoing supervision and support.
  • Work creatively with children, families, and schools to provide tailored mental health support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of professionals, schools, and families.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education settings.
  • Assess and manage risk, seeking support from a supervisor as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Mental Health Support Team to provide a comprehensive service.
Requirements
  • Creative and flexible approach to working with children, families, and schools.
  • Good understanding of children with additional needs and their learning styles.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Good basic literacy and numeracy qualifications (minimum Level 2).
  • Willingness to participate in supervision and ongoing professional development.

This is a fixed-term position for one year, with the potential for extension. You will be required to work full-time and commit to completing the fully subsidized EMHP course at the University of Reading.
