Position Overview

The Football Association is seeking a visionary leader to oversee our commercial partnerships division.

Generating revenue is essential for The FA's reinvestment into football, and the Head of Commercial Partnerships is pivotal in enhancing and sustaining income through our partnership initiatives.

The FA boasts one of the most extensive partnership portfolios in global sports, collaborating with prestigious brands such as Nike, EE, Emirates, Adobe, M&S, Chase, and others across various FA properties, including the England Men's, Women's, and Para teams, The Emirates FA Cup, The Adobe Women's FA Cup, Wembley National Stadium, and St. George's Park.

Success in this role hinges on establishing top-tier strategic partnerships, maximizing commercial potential, nurturing exceptional relationships with partners, offering innovative insights, and cultivating high-performing partnership management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Management
  • Lead the strategic oversight and execution of The FA's Commercial Partnerships program, ensuring the effective delivery of rights across various FA properties while supporting partners' marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Proactively oversee and develop a high-performing Partnerships team to guarantee exceptional management and delivery to our commercial partners.
  • Enhance operational efficiency across the Commercial Partnerships program.
  • Negotiate renewal contracts with partners, optimizing revenue and commercial benefits.
  • Administer commercial agreements related to FA Competitions and England teams to ensure the fulfillment of commercial rights for the program.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to foster growth within the Commercial Partnerships program.
  • Act as a trusted consultant to commercial partners, offering strategic advice on rights utilization and marketing initiatives.
  • Drive the development and evolution of The FA's planning, measurement, reporting, and partnership performance.
  • Ensure the protection and stewardship of FA properties as necessary.
  • Exhibit the capability to influence at the highest organizational levels.
  • Build and maintain outstanding relationships with commercial partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and exemplary leadership.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new partners as they are secured.
  • Collaborate closely with FA departments to ensure a robust stakeholder network and relationships.
  • Lead planning and evaluations for seasons and tournaments.
Wembley Stadium Events
  • Maximize revenue and enhance commercial value from Wembley Stadium and its events program, in collaboration with the Wembley Stadium team.
St. George's Park
  • Identify and explore opportunities to enhance commercial value for St. George's Park, working closely with its leadership team.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as required to adapt to The FA Group's evolving priorities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • Complete a DBS check as part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all involved in football.
Qualifications

Essential:
  • Experience in a commercial or marketing role within the sports sector.
  • Proven track record of working with leading brands.
  • Expertise in negotiating and finalizing agreements, with a demonstrated ability to identify and capitalize on revenue opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence.
  • Capability to build trust and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
