Job Summary

The NWH Group is seeking a highly skilled Transport Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of our fleet, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials across Scotland and the north east of England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate and allocate work with drivers to optimize routes and reduce costs
  • Lead a team of drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure high levels of performance and customer satisfaction
  • Assist other transport coordinators with logistics and vehicle management as required
  • Enforce health, safety, and compliance regulations with drivers
  • Manage driving staff, including recording of sickness, holidays, payroll, and reviewing driver performance

Requirements

  • Experience in logistics or transportation management
  • Knowledge of transport legislation and regulations
  • Ability to manage demanding situations and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and online platforms
