Job Summary:

The NWH Group is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Yard Operations Manager to join our team in Dumfries. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our waste management site.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control vehicle movement on site to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective waste stream management.
  • Maintain a high level of safe working practices across the site.
  • Ensure site traffic plans are up to date and adhered to by all personnel and vehicles.
  • Manage and monitor performance of all yellow plant on site, including maintenance and repair schedules.
  • Develop and execute a site improvement program with the Processing Manager.
  • Ensure electricity, fuel, and water usage is monitored and minimized.
  • Implement and oversee the company's Health & Safety Policies and procedures.
  • Effective and professional management of site personnel, including regular staff appraisals.

Requirements:

  • 360 & Loading Shovel CPCS Tickets.
  • Experience with Quarry/Recycling Plant and equipment (desirable).
  • IOSH – Managing Safely.
  • Wamitab Level 4.

About Us:

The NWH Group is a second-generation family business headquartered in Midlothian. We service the whole of Scotland and the north east of England from ten sites, with a vision to eliminate waste by transforming it into a valuable product. We provide waste collection services to the Commercial & Industrial, Office, Leisure & Retail, and Construction industries, collecting waste with our fleet of Trade Refuse, Skip, Tipper, Grab, and Walking Floor articulated vehicles, and transporting materials to our material recycling facilities where we produce and recover valuable products such as metals, cardboard, paper, washed sands, biomass for energy, and animal bedding.
