GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals in Cramlington. As a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom, particularly those with SEN needs.
  • Assist teachers in preparing lessons and adapting them to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Help implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage students to develop their independence, social skills, and self-confidence.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the school's overall SEN strategy.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to support the educational and emotional development of students.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a relevant field is necessary.
  • Experience working with children, ideally in an SEN environment, is required.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to address the needs of the school and students.
