About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Clancy. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our vision of delivering brilliant infrastructure solutions while developing your career in quantity surveying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce weekly and monthly cost value reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Capture and allocate costs and liabilities to maximize profit and control costs.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with internal and external teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Manage opportunities and risks, identifying deviations from working practices to mitigate potential issues.
  • Assist in developing commercial tenders, offers, and contracts to secure new business opportunities.
  • Identify and escalate inappropriate costs to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Record and track insurance claims to minimize financial losses.
  • Maintain accurate contract data and records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Capture and report direct labour payments; draft and award sub-contracts to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Share best practices for continuous improvement to enhance team performance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree in construction or commercial management.
  • Experience in subcontractor management and a strong commercial awareness.
  • A thorough understanding of NEC3 forms of contract and relevant construction and contract law.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills to analyze and present complex data.
  • The ability to prioritize your own workload, act collaboratively, and inspire others to do the same.
  • Proactivity in identifying and promptly escalating issues, demonstrating resilience in the face of setbacks, and taking personal responsibility for resolving problems.
  • Positive challenging situations and providing clear commercial information.
