Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Team Lead to join our Personal Injury Technical Claims team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of experienced handlers in managing and settling higher value, complex injury claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the handling of complex, higher value personal injury claims
  • Conduct detailed reviews of the claims managed by the team to ensure technical accuracy, assess performance and identify/address training needs
  • Be a technical referral point for claims within the Technical Team as well as those which may have the potential to be housed there, providing expert guidance and advice as required
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to enhance the performance and consistency of the handlers within the Technical Team
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and develop action plans to address any areas of improvement
  • Use MI to understand performance of existing strategies, implementing and measuring changes, as well as implementing new strategies to improve performance
  • Liaise with other teams within Personal Injury and across Claims more widely to facilitate the efficient operation of the team
  • Contribute to the leadership and strategic planning of the Personal Injury Department as appropriate
  • Manage supplier relationships effectively and identify potential new partnerships which can add value to the performance of the Technical Team
Requirements:
  • Significant experience of handling complex personal injury claims as well as an extensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework within which these claims are handled
