Principal Legal Counsel

The Principal Legal Counsel will be a key member of the Ocado Solutions legal team, providing strategic legal advice to support the business's domestic and international transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial and technology law, with a focus on international transactions and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with the Ocado Solutions business to provide strategic legal advice on domestic and international transactions.
- Facilitate the development of business strategies, while providing legal and risk management expertise.
- Support stakeholders across the Solutions business and key collaborators, including at an executive level.
- Participate in senior leadership and management forums, representing the Associate General Counsel.
- Manage, coach, and develop junior members of the team to deliver high-quality and commercial advice.
- Lead and supervise drafting, negotiation, and advice provided in respect of new and existing international Solutions contracts.
- Oversee all legal input in respect of drafting, negotiation, and providing expert advice on a wide range of domestic and cross-border commercial and other legal work.
- Minimum of 10 years post-qualification as a commercial or technology lawyer.
- Qualified Solicitor/Barrister specialising in commercial and technology contracts.
- Experience advising on commercial and technology law internationally, with a desire to expand this expertise.
- Strong IP and data protection knowledge.
- Proven experience working with senior management, including executive and board levels, in complex environments.
- Exceptional domestic and cross-border transactional experience.
- Outstanding business judgement and client counselling skills.
