About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Medicines Management Assistant to join our team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medicines across our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the supervision of Medicines Management Technicians and Pharmacists to carry out near bedside dispensing, patient interview and counselling for discharge.
  • Contribute to the governance of medicines through regular audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with ward-based teams, nursing staff, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Utilize automation technologies, such as the ROWA robot and automated storage cabinets, to optimize medicines management and dispensary services.
  • Participate in local training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in medicines management.
Person Specification
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy
  • Significant experience in hospital pharmacy, with a strong track record of working as part of a team and taking instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all grades of staff and patients.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, managing your time effectively and meeting deadlines.
