As the Retail Operations Communication Coordinator, you will report directly to the Planning and Collaboration Manager. Your role will involve ensuring that our store teams are informed about essential business initiatives, trading strategies, and operational responsibilities. You will play a crucial part in helping our teams achieve sales targets and foster business growth through effective communication.

Your responsibilities will include utilizing various communication platforms such as the Intranet, email, and internal social channels to engage with colleagues and enhance participation in our initiatives.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of adapting to the evolving needs of our customers and the retail landscape, directly influencing how we operate our stores to meet customer expectations.

We promote a hybrid working model that balances collaboration and flexibility. You will work from our head office three days a week, with the freedom to manage your schedule around core hours. Our office environment is designed to be comfortable and conducive to productivity, featuring amenities such as a subsidized canteen and free parking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Planning & Collaboration Manager to implement the retail communication strategy for store teams.
  • Act as a deputy in the absence of the Planning & Collaboration Manager.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Retail Planning & Collaboration Coordinator.
  • Oversee and evaluate our existing communication channels.
  • Take charge of delivering both planned and responsive operational communications.
  • Craft audience-specific communications that resonate with our company’s tone, culture, and brand identity.
  • Foster two-way engagement with store colleagues through our internal communities, staying attuned to current social trends.
  • Monitor internal social channels to identify key themes and provide feedback to the broader organization.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment with communication strategies impacting retail operations.
  • Maintain regular contact with stores through feedback and visits to ensure our initiatives are beneficial for colleagues.
  • Assist in the development of task management capabilities within the operation.

Required Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in line management is preferred.
  • Ability to translate complex business concepts into clear, accessible language.
  • Awareness of how contemporary social trends can enhance colleague engagement.
  • A creative mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and Teams; experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Viva Engage is advantageous.
  • Background in internal communications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with retail operations is desirable.
