Job Description

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Engineer to join their team in a specialist fleet hire and management company in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles, including refuse vehicles, skip-loaders, tippers, trucks, and roll-on roll-off units.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on HGVs to identify any faults or defects.
  2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform repairs as necessary.
  3. Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
  4. Provide excellent customer service and support to other members of the workshop team.
  5. Assist in the development of the workshop team's skills and knowledge through training and mentoring.
Requirements:
  1. 3+ years of experience as an HGV technician, Workshop Engineer, or similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry.
  2. HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
  3. Class 2 licence preferred.
  4. Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry desirable.
Benefits:
  • Salary: £42,690 (OTE £45k - £50k+)
  • Working hours: 6am- 3:30pm Monday - Friday one week, 12:30-10pm the next week (Late shift every other week)
  • Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH
  • £100 retainer for late shift (£20 a night allowance)
