Job Summary:

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Engineer to join their team in a Depot role. As a key member of the workshop team, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles, including refuse vehicles, skip-loaders, tippers, trucks, and roll-on roll-off units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections on HGVs to identify any faults or defects.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform repairs as necessary.
  • Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Provide assistance and support to other members of the workshop team as required.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience as an HGV technician, Workshop Engineer, or similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry.
  • HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
  • Class 2 licence preferred.
  • Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry desirable.
  • Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.

Benefits:

  • Salary: £42,690 (OTE £45k - £50k+)
  • Working hours: 6am- 3:30pm Monday - Friday one week, 12:30-10pm the next week (Late shift every other week)
  • Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH
  • £100 retainer for late shift (£20 a night allowance)
  • Overtime available
  • Discretionary bonus up to £3,000
