About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to lead our Mental Health Support Teams in Schools. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and delivering our mental health support services to children and young people in schools across Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and delivery of our Mental Health Support Teams in Schools, ensuring high-quality services are provided to meet the needs of children, young people, and families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, education settings, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.
  • Manage and supervise a team of mental health professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote emotional wellbeing and mental health in schools, working closely with teachers, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide timely advice and support to schools and education settings, liaising with external specialist services as needed.
  • Deliver brief goal-focused interventions to support children and young people with mental health difficulties, including anxiety, worry management, problem-solving, and low mood.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and managing a team of professionals.
  • Knowledge of educational systems and structures, including the National Curriculum and Ofsted requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with schools, education settings, and other stakeholders.
