Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive system and solution designs adhering to NEC/SSS Public Safety standards and specifications.
  • Effectively present designs and their supporting rationale to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Continuously update and refine designs in response to project modifications.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and clients to negotiate and finalize architectural components.
  • Provide design leadership and guidance across the project team through proactive engagement with all stakeholders.
  • Work professionally with internal teams, including Sales and Product departments, for governance, evaluations, and approvals.
  • Accept a car allowance for business-related travel.
  • Engage in extensive customer interactions, both technical and non-technical, requiring a professional and adaptable communication style.
  • Demonstrate a high level of independent work, maintaining exceptional personal time and task management.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within established deadlines and communicate any challenges in meeting delivery milestones.

  • Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to all Health and Safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Who Are You?

  • Possess an HND/HNC qualification or relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in IT-focused server and client environments.
  • Proficient in creating detailed design documentation.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Windows client and server architecture (Windows 10/11, up to Server 2019/2022), primarily utilizing DELL hardware or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory/domain architecture.
  • Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation abilities.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with design and documentation tools such as MS Visio, along with proficiency in MS applications including Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Business Applications including Excel and Word.
  • Strong customer service capabilities.
  • Proven track record of adhering to ITIL best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree or higher qualification in a technical discipline.
  • Prior experience in developing technical solution designs for IT systems.
  • Familiarity with formal design methodologies such as TOGAF.
  • Understanding of SIP protocol.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Batch, MySQL, PowerShell).
  • Experience with Hyper-V Failover Clustering.
  • Knowledge of telephony systems (Cisco UCCE, Avaya, Mitel, etc.).
  • Proficient in MySQL/MSSQL (User Administration, job creation including backups, writing and understanding queries).
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (solution design, deployment, or security).
