About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotic Application Engineer to join our team at KION Group. As a key member of our automation solutions team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation and commissioning of automation solutions, including AGV, AMR, and KION automated systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Plan, install, and commission automation solutions at customer sites, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to our aftersales department, addressing customer queries and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Change Requests and Error Analysis: Analyze and resolve on-site errors, and implement changes to automation solutions as required.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with our project management team to ensure successful project delivery, meeting both technical and financial objectives.
  • Demonstrations and Training: Facilitate controlled AGV demonstrations at our locations or customer sites, and provide training to end customers on the effective use of automation solutions.
  • Technical Specialist: Support our service organization as a technical specialist consultant, providing on-site, remote, or digital platform support to customers.
  • Damage Analysis and Root Cause Identification: Assess and implement damage analyses at customer sites or in-house, and coordinate with automation partners to resolve issues efficiently.
  • KPI Monitoring and Improvement: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) on-site, such as errors, availability, and pallet/h performance, and recommend action plans for improvement.
  • Pre- and Post-Sale Support: Provide application and system support to customers before and after sales, ensuring seamless customer experience.
Requirements
  • Programming Language Qualification: Proficiency in programming languages such as KIWI, C, C++, MATLAB, or Python is essential.
  • Education and Experience: Completed vocational training in mechatronics or electronics, or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science is required.
  • Industrial Project Experience: Basic knowledge of complex industrial projects, including Industrial Robotics, Automotive, and Aeronautics, is essential.
  • Travel and Communication: Ability to travel extensively across the UK and Europe (up to 80% peak travel time) and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Language Skills: Fluent spoken and written English language skills are essential.
  • Problem-Solving and Self-Motivation: Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, good listening skills, attention to detail, and a full driving license are required.
