Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Children's Nurse with a special interest in children and young people's diabetes to join our Paediatric Diabetes team at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and young people with diabetes, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless transitions of care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialist care and education to children and their families in the inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans to optimize outcomes for children with diabetes
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and support for children and their families
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff members
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration on the NMC register as a Children's Nurse
  • Substantial experience of working with children with diabetes in an acute or community setting
  • Specialist knowledge in relation to area of specialist practice and interest
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
