Job Title: Youth Mentor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Mentor to join our team. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 11-19 years, providing guidance, and facilitating activities that promote their personal and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, providing a safe and supportive environment for them to thrive.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of young people, promoting their participation and empowerment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of youth programs, ensuring they are responsive to the needs of the community.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to young people, signposting them to relevant services and resources as needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of youth development principles and practices, with a commitment to promoting positive outcomes for young people.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and occasional weekends, and to travel to different sites as required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
